S.E. PRESENTATION FOR CHILDREN'S SERVICES ADVISORY <br />COMMITTEE BY VERNA WRIGHT, DASIE BRIDGEWATER HOPE <br />CENTER <br />Ms. Verna Wright, Director of the Dasie Hope Center in Wabasso, said the <br />organization serves children, ages 5-18 years. Through a PowerPoint presentation she <br />highlighted the Center's mission, its needs and services, and whom they serve. She also <br />highlighted the achievements of the program, which include seeing kids off to college, and <br />thanked the Board for its continued support and funding. <br />Major General Cromartie, Baltimore, Maryland, and of Wabasso, expressed <br />pride in being a product of his community, Wabasso, and thanked the Board for the recognition. <br />Commissioner O'Bryan asked for Board permission for Ms. Wright to post <br />today's full presentation on the County's website. Board members all consented. <br />The Chairman called a recess at 9:36 a.m. and reconvened the meeting at 9:44 <br />a.m., with all members present. <br />5.F. (10.A.1) PUBLIC HEARING <br />EMERGENCY ORDINANCE (LEGISLATIVE) <br />County Attorney Will Collins recapped the backup memorandum of February 11, <br />2009, and provided background on the request for an Emergency Ordinance. He reminded the <br />Board that at the February 10, 2009, Board meeting, staff presented an emergency ordinance <br />addressing the impact of the credit crisis and its impact on the local development community. <br />The Board at that time took public input, but postponed action for one week to allow for further <br />February 17, 2009 4 <br />
