REQUEST FOR AUTHORIZATION TO SUBMIT A FY2006/07 GRANT <br />APPLICATION FOR 49 CH. 53, SECTION 5397 MASS TRANSIT CAPITAL <br />AND OPERATING ASSISTANCE (LEGISLATIVE) <br />PROOF OF PUBLICATION OF ADVERTISEMENT FOR HEARING IS ON FILE IN THE <br />OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />Phillip Matson, Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Staff Director, <br />explained the benefits of Indian River County being an urbanized area. He said the biggest benefit <br />fell under operating expenses, which required a 50% non-federal match and capital expenses that <br />required a 20% non-federal match. He provided the Board with the total proposed budget amounts <br />and requested the Board provide approval to submit the grant application. Mr. Matson responded <br />to questions from the Board. <br />The Chairman opened the Public Hearing. There were no additional speakers and <br />the Chairman closed the Public Hearing. <br />ON MOTION by Vice Chair Bowden, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Flescher, the Board unanimously approved <br />Resolution No. 2007-019, authorizing the filing of a FY <br />2006/07 Grant Application for 49 USC CH. 53, Section <br />5307 Mass Transit Capital and Operating Assistance. <br />February 20, 2007 21 <br />
