MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Davis, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Lowther, for discussion, to <br />approve staff’s recommendation. <br /> <br />Under discussion, Commissioner Lowther commented that it looks like some <br />re-alignment of departments would occur to streamline the Public Works Department. <br /> <br />The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION and the motion <br />carried unanimously (4-0, Commissioner Bowden absent). <br />(The Board authorized the County Administrator to add the <br />requested six positions to the Public Works Department.) <br /> <br />11.A. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT - NONE <br /> <br />11.B. EMERGENCY SERVICES - NONE <br /> <br />11.C. GENERAL SERVICES – ACCEPTANCE OF FIVE NEW <br />PROPOSED ITEMS FOR ADDITIONAL WORK FOR THE <br />NEW COUNTY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING <br /> <br />Project Manager Steve Blum reviewed the memorandum of February 15, 2006 in the <br />backup and explained the additional work. He specified that the additional expense of $40,218.00 <br />would be taken from the owner’s contingency. Additional items are as follows: (1) 8" water main <br />extension addition; (2) additional asphalt for ADA parking relocation; (3) remove and dispose of <br />underground utilities; (4) provide irrigation for transplanted trees; and (5) stand up 10 oak trees. <br /> <br />February 21, 2006 <br />23 <br /> <br />
