ON MOTION by Commissioner Davis, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowden, the Board unanimously authorized <br />the Sheriff to request grant dollars for the purchase of <br />replacement bulletproof vests through the U.S. Department <br />of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance Bulletproof Vest <br />Partnership Program and be able to supplant local dollars <br />and provide the required safety equipment for our law <br />enforcement officers at a substantial saving to the <br />taxpayers, as requested in the memorandum of February 21, <br />2005. <br /> <br />(CLERK’S NOTE: The Chairman called for a short recess at 10:24 a.m. The meeting reconvened <br />at 10:34 a.m. with all members present.) <br /> <br />9.A.1.
