2. REQUEST FOR CONSIDERATION OF HIRING A <br />CONSULTANT TO ASSIST STAFF WITH CHARTER <br />GOVERNMENT ORDINANCE <br />Commissioner O'Bryan reminded the Board that two weeks ago they voted and <br />directed staff to draft an Ordinance for Charter Government to be brought back for a voter <br />referendum. The Board also approved at that time a requisition of up to $25,000.00 for the hiring <br />of a Facilitator/Consultant to help organize and run various workshops to get public input. He <br />presented the Resume of Mr. Kurt Spitzer for consideration, announcing that Mr. Spitzer came <br />recommended by Virginia "Ginger" Delegal of the Florida Association of Counties. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner O'Bryan, <br />SECONDED by Chairman Wheeler, to move forward with <br />writing up a contract to hire Mr. Kurt Spitzer as a <br />Facilitator/Consultant for the County. <br />Vice Chair Bowden inquired if there was a timeframe on how long the job would <br />take. Commissioner O'Bryan had an estimate from Mr. Spitzer which include his fees and how <br />many public hearings it would take. <br />Bid. <br />Discussion ensued regarding associated costs and whether they have to go out to <br />The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION and the motion <br />carried. By a 4-1 vote (Commissioner Flescher opposed) <br />the Board approved the hiring of Consultant Kurt Spitzer to <br />assist with development of a Charter Government <br />Ordinance, as requested in the memorandum of January 30, <br />February 6, 2007 54 <br />
