WODTKE AND INSTRUCTED THE BUILDING DIRECTOR, <br />TO GIVE THEM A FURTHER REPORT ON THIS SITUATION WHEN THE NEXT GROUP <br />OF HAZARDOUS STRUCTURES IS TAKEN UNDER CONSIDERATION. <br />VICE CHAIRMAN Loy INFORMED THOSE PRESENT THAT CHAIRMAN WODTKE <br />DID NOT FILE A CONFLICT OF INTEREST BECAUSE HE DOES NOT HAVE A FINANCIAL <br />INTEREST, BUT HE LEFT THE MEETING BECAUSE THE GENTLEMAN INVOLVED IS <br />HIS UNCLE. <br />THE CHAIRMAN RETURNED TO THE MEETING AT 3:05 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />WILLIAM KOOLAGE BROUGHT UP THE PUBLIC HEARING IN REGARD TO <br />CREATING A HOUSING AUTHORITY THAT IS TO BE HELD ON .JULY 17TH. HE NOTED <br />THERE ARE A NUMBER OF PLACES IN GIFFORD IN VERY BAD SHAPE, AND HE HAS <br />BEEN ASKED IF SOMETHING CAN T BE DONE WHEN SOMEONE MOVES OUT SO THAT THE <br />RESIDENCE CAN T BE RENTED AGAIN UNTIL IT IS BROUGHT UP TO CODE, <br />IN GENERAL DISCUSSION IT WAS NOTED THAT WHEN SOMEONE MOVES <br />OUT, THE PROBLEM IS HOW TO KEEP THE STRUCTURE FROM BEING REOCCUPIED <br />BEFORE IT IS FIXED AND ALSO HOW TO DETERMINE WHEN THEY DO MOVE OUT. <br />BUILDING DIRECTOR RYMER STATED THAT IF HER DEPARTMENT IS <br />NOTIFIED WHEN PEOPLE MOVE OUT, THEN THEY CAN DO SOMETHING, POSSIBLY HAVE <br />THE ELECTRIC DISCONNECTED, BUT THE PROBLEM IS HOW TO GET NOTIFICATION. <br />SHE DID NOT BELIEVE FLORIDA POWER & LIGHT WOULD CALL HER EVERY TIME THEY <br />GET A DISCONNECT NOTICE. IT WAS FURTHER NOTED THAT THERE ISN'T ALWAYS <br />A DISCONNECT WHEN THE PEOPLE DO MOVE OUT AND OTHERS MOVE IN. DISCUSSION <br />CONTINUED ON HOW TO ACCOMPLISH WHAT MR. KOOLAGE SUGGESTED. <br />MR, KOOLAGE INFORMED THE BOARD THAT HE IS WILLING TO ACCEPT <br />APPOINTMENT TO THE HOUSING FINANCE AUTHORITY. <br />THE CHAIRMAN FELT WE ARE NOW READY TO MAKE THESE APPOINTMENTS. <br />DISCUSSION FOLLOWED ON STAGGERED TERMS, AND IT WAS AGREED TO DO THIS <br />ALPHABETICALLY. ' <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER LYONS, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />SIEBERT, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED RESOLUTION 79-60, APPOINTING <br />RON ARENDAS, CLARK BENNETT, PAUL F. BUBENDEY, L. GENE HARRIS, AND <br />WILLIAM W. KOOLAGE TO SERVE ON THE HOUSING FINANCE AUTHORITY, THE <br />STAGGERED TERMS TO BE DETERMINED ALPHABETICALLY. <br />47 <br />J U L 51979 BOOK} r, <br />
