B. PTRBA <br />RESENTATION OF OP ESTORED EACH WARD FROM <br />ASBPA <br />MERICAN HORE AND EACH RESERVATION SSOCIATION <br /> <br />Jonathan C. Gorham, Ph.D., <br /> Indian River County Coastal Resource Manager, <br />briefly described the Award from American Shore and Beach Preservation Association, which he <br />accepted on behalf of the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners, on March 2, 2006 <br />in Washington D.C. Selection was based on performance of project, on its environmental <br />performance in enhancing sea turtle nesting, and protecting the uplands in the area during the 2004 <br />hurricanes. He presented the Award to the Board of County Commissioners after which he read <br />the Award Citation. Mr. Gorham was very pleased to see their efforts honored by a national <br />organization especially because it was their first beach project. <br /> <br />Commissioner Davis had the opportunity to talk with people from the Department of <br />Environmental Protection (DEP) and they were very pleased with the beach quality sand on our <br />other projects. They are very satisfied with our performance on everything except one matter and it <br />is being worked on. <br /> <br />The Chairman acknowledged the Presentation and Commissioner Bowden accepted <br />the Award on behalf of the Board. <br /> <br />6.
