12.C. GENERAL SERVICES <br />I. INDIGENT CREMATION/BURIAL POLICY AND RESOLUTION <br />DESIGNATING THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR OR HIS DESIGNEE AS THE <br />"LEGALLY AUTHORIZED PERSON" AS DEFINED WITHIN SECTION <br />497.005(37) FLORIDA STATUTES <br />General Services Director Tom Frame explained the requirements of Florida <br />Laws for cremation and burial, and sought direction from the Board associated with indigent <br />burials and cremation. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wheeler, <br />SECONDED by Vice Chairman Flescher, the Board <br />unanimously directed staff to draft a Policy similar to <br />that of St. Lucie County, to be brought back to the <br />Board for consideration and approval, along with a <br />final version of the proposed resolution designating <br />the County Administrator or his designee as the <br />"legally authorized person" pursuant to Florida <br />Statutes, Section 497.005(37), as recommended in the <br />memorandum dated March 11, 2009. <br />12.D.
