Commissioner Wheeler believed that the County had indicated in previous eminent <br />domain transactions, that sellers would have the option to renew the lease on their former <br />property, until such time that the County needed the property. <br />Commissioner Solari felt that the leaseback should be presented as part of the <br />overall package, and that it should be used as a tool for the benefit of all citizens. He felt that the <br />tenant was asking for something in addition to the original contract, and thus, it was appropriate <br />for the Commission to ask something in return. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Solari to extend <br />the lease for $500 per month for the first year, and then to <br />grant an option to renew for another $500 per month for <br />whatever terms the individual and staff deem appropriate. <br />Motion DIED for lack of a second. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner O'Bryan, <br />SECONDED by Vice Chairman Flescher, to approve <br />staff's recommendation. <br />Assistant Public Works Director Chris Mora responded to Commissioner <br />Wheeler's request for an update on the 66th Avenue Road Project, adding that further information <br />would be brought back to the Board. <br />The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION, and by a 4-1 <br />vote (Commissioner Solari opposed), the Motion carried. <br />The Board approved Alternative No. 1, the Lease <br />Extension Agreement, allowing Robert J. Gardiner to <br />remain in the premises and amending the lease to <br />12 <br />March 24, 2009 <br />
