Jeff Thompson, Seville Avenue, provided arguments for extending the impact <br />fees beyond the six months. He also believed that the traffic impact fees needed to be re- <br />evaluated, before more work was done on the impact fees. <br />Andrew Kennedy, 3001 Ocean Drive, Duncan Report, recommended that the <br />Board utilize some of the local traffic engineers, who have offered to look at the traffic impact <br />fees at no cost, and he offered to act as a facilitator between the County and the outside <br />engineers. <br />Helene Caseltine, Director of Economic Development, Chamber of Commerce, <br />believed that temporarily reducing the impact fees helps local businesses and sends a positive <br />message to businesses throughout the Country who may be considering establishing businesses <br />in Florida. <br />Rene Renzi, Waverly Place, felt that the categories selected for the impact fee <br />reductions were upside down. <br />Tom Lowther, 20th Avenue, Vero Beach, commended the Board for looking at the <br />commercial side of the impact fees. <br />Charlie Wilson, 1057 6th Avenue, applauded the Board for taking this action, <br />which he believed was the first step in trying to correct the County's anti -business reputation. <br />There were no additional speakers and the Chairman closed the public hearing. <br />Budget Director Jason Brown displayed slides of the impact fees to detail some of <br />the decreases in the residential and commercial impact fees, according to land use. He divulged <br />that the residential reduction would typically be in the range of 9-10%, and most of the <br />18 <br />March 24, 2009 <br />
