PROCLAMATIONS AND PRESENTATIONS <br />5.A. PROCLAMATIONDESIGNATING MARCH 9 THROUGH I (. 2003 AS PELICAN <br />ISLAND WEEK <br />Commissioner Adams read the Proclamation and presented it to Beth Mitchell, Director of <br />the Sebastian Chamber of Commerce; Paul Tritaik of the Fish and Wildlife Commission; and former <br />Commissioner Ruth Stanbridge, County Historian. <br />Beth Mitchell thanked the Board and stated that the upcoming celebration is truly a <br />community collaboration and noted that Ruth Stanbridge was named as a "Refuge Hero" in 2000. <br />Ruth Stanbridge mentioned some of the plans for the upcoming celebration and added that <br />there will be brochures explaining the story of Pelican Island and Paul Kroegel and a plaque will be <br />installed at Riverview Park to explain Mr. Kroegel's statue.
