WENDY LANCASTER OF THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT INFORMED THOSE <br />PRESENT THAT THE SUBJECT PROPERTY CONTAINS APPROXIMATELY 14.5 ACRES <br />AND IS LOCATED APPROXIMATELY TWO MILES NORTH OF WABASSO BEACH ROAD <br />WEST OF S,R. AIA, IT IS PRESENTLY UNDEVELOPED)AND THE AREA TO THE <br />EAST OF AIA IS ALSO UNDEVELOPED EXCEPT FOR A SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE. <br />THE LAND TO THE SOUTH AND WEST IS PRIMARILY IN GROVES. SHE STATED <br />THAT THE MAJOR CONSIDERATION WITH REGARD TO THIS PROPOSED REZONING <br />IS RELATED TO WATER SUPPLY, THE WATER SUPPLY FOR THIS PARTICULAR DE- <br />VELOPMENT MAY NOT BE A PROBLEM, BUT IT MAY BE THE START OF A PROBLEM <br />THAT WILL COMPOUND WITH INCREASING DEVELOPMENT. Ms. LANCASTER NOTED <br />THAT THIS AREA IS SHOWN AS MEDIUM DENSITY UNDER THE COMPREHENSIVE <br />LAND USE PLAN, THE PLANNING STAFF RECOMMENDS REZONING TO R-lAA WHICH <br />WOULD DECREASE DENSITY, AND THE PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION APPROVED <br />R-lAA ZONING ON A 2 TO I VOTE, <br />ATTORNEY LAWRENCE BARKETT APPEARED FOR THE APPLICANT AND <br />REQUESTED THAT THE BOARD FOLLOW THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE PLANNING & <br />ZONING DEPARTMENT AND REZONE TO R-lAA. <br />VICE CHAIRMAN LOY ASKED IF ANYONE PRESENT WISHED TO BE HEARD. <br />RICHARD LETSINGER, CAME BEFORE THE BOARD AS TRUSTEE FOR <br />MR. HAZEL, THE DEVELOPER, AND STATED THAT THEY AGREED TO LOWER THE <br />DENSITY, AND, IN FACT, WANTED TO. HE FELT THEY WILL BUILD A VERY <br />FINE PROJECT, ONE OF WHICH THE COUNTY WILL BE PROUD. <br />COMMISSIONE LYONS ASKED WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO DO FOR A WATER <br />SUPPLY, AND MR. LETSINGER STATED THAT THEY WILL DRILL DEEP WELLS. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />DEESON, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY CLOSED THE PUBLIC HEARING, <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />DEESON, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED ORDINANCE N0. 79-25 APPROVING <br />REZONING TO R-1AA. <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS FELT IT SHOULD BE STATED FOR THE RECORD THAT <br />THE APPLICANT, ERNEST HAZEL, IS IN FAVOR OF REZONING TO R-1AA, AND <br />ATTORNEY BARKETT STATED FOR THE RECORD THAT MR, HAZEL DOES AGREE <br />WITH REZONING TO:R-lAA. <br />55 <br />AUG 2 21979 <br />eooK 41 PACE 424 <br />
