Page Two <br />September 20, 1979 <br />5. Last bay to the north is the carpenter's shop, with a <br />piece of plywood over the area where doors were removed. Plywood <br />sloes not completely close off opening. Also, at bearinct wall, It: <br />truss bearing, space between bottom of roof sheathing and top of <br />beam is open. <br />6. Lighting is mixed, with incandescent bulbs and suspended <br />fluorescent fixture, electric panels in each bay of 60 amps. each, <br />with three spares. Electrical convenience outlets are sparse with <br />some duplex at light switch. <br />7. In south bay, on south wall, there is a 24" exhaust fan. <br />RECOr4MENDATIONS (as per numbered items above) <br />1. Remove all equipment and reseal concrete floors with <br />"THYR SEAL" or equal concrete floor. sealer. Roll on with paint roller <br />after concrete slab is cleaned. This procedure should be the last <br />item done after completing other recommendations. <br />2. Remove all glass jalousie windows and block -up openings <br />,•with 8"x8"x16" concrete block. Eighteen openings are approximately <br />6'-0" wide x 4'-0" high (some vary). <br />3. Roof: Remove existing tar and gravel portion of roof <br />and complete with one layer of 15# felt "tin -tag" and 90# roll slate <br />roofing, hot tarred to tin -tag felt. Install 6" Fiberglas batt in- <br />,ulativii between trusses. Install 5/8" 'X' F.R. drywall ceiling <br />nailed direct to roof joists. 'Pape and mud all joints and nail areas. <br />4. Doors: Remove all 1/2 glass doors and install 1 3/4" <br />solid core exterior grade type flush door. One (1) 3"-6" door at <br />each of existing openings. <br />5. North Bay: Block -up existing opening where existing door <br />was removed. Seal opening at top of beam and bottom of roof sheathing. <br />6. Lighting: Provide fluorescent fixtures in areas not so <br />equipped now. Salvage fixtures from old hospital site. <br />7. Exhaust Fan: .Either remove and block -up opening or <br />provide gravity louvers on exterior. <br />Provide: 12 to 15,000 B.T.U. window air conditioners, <br />one in each bay. <br />CONCLUSION: <br />If the above recommendation: are done, the leeks, the dust, <br />and the humidity problcr..s will be satisfied. <br />Without a bid or "figures", I would anticipate an "educated <br />guesstimate" would be between $8,000 and $10,000. <br />cc: William C.
