THIS IS THE RECOMMEN- <br />DATION OF THE ADMINISTRATORS STAFF ALSO. <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT FELT THE SPEED SHOULD BE REDUCED TO <br />35 MPH FROM 27TH AVENUE EAST ALL THE WAY TO U.S.I., IF IT IS NOT 35 <br />AT THE PRESENT TIME BETWEEN 20TH AVENUE AND U.S.I. <br />MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY "COM- <br />MISSIONER LOY, TO ACCEPT THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE ASSISTANT ADMINIS- <br />TRATOR AS ABOVE, AND IF THE SPEED FROM 27TH AVENUE TO U.S.I. IS NOT <br />PRESENTLY 35 MPH, TO INCLUDE THAT AREA ALSO. <br />DR. BANNER POINTED OUT THAT HIS REQUEST WAS TO REDUCE THE <br />SPEED ALL THE WAY FROM 43RD AVENUE EAST, AND THIS IS NOT BEING AD- <br />DRESSED. HE STATED THAT OTHER STREETS IN THIS AREA DO HAVE THIS <br />SPEED LIMIT, AND THERE IS CONSIDERABLE DEVELOPMENT IN THE AREA. HE <br />NOTED THAT 12TH STREET HAS BEEN REFERRED TO AS A MAJOR ARTERY, BUT HE <br />DOES NOT BELIEVE THIS IS TRUE. DR. BANNER CONTINUED THAT THERE HAVE <br />BEEN SEVERAL FATAL ACCIDENTS EVEN AFTER THE INSTALLATION OF THE <br />TRAFFIC LIGHT, AND HE DID NOT SEE ANY REASON TO MAINTAIN A 45 MPH <br />SPEED LIMIT BETWEEN 43RD AND 27TH AVENUES, WHICH IS A DANGEROUS <br />SITUATION. <br />THE BOARD DISCUSSED THE SPEED LIMIT ON 4TH ST. (CITRUS), <br />WHICH THEY FELT WAS 45 MPH AFTER THE SCHOOL'ZONE. <br />ASSISTANT ADMINISTRATOR NELSON REPORTED THAT THE SHERIFF <br />FELT WE SHOULD NOT RESTRICT TRAFFIC ON 12TH STREET. HE NOTED THAT <br />THE ROAD HAS A WIDE SHOULDER, <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT STATED THAT HE HAS TO GO BY THE REPORT <br />SUBMITTED FROM THE SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT, AND HE COULD NOT SUPPORT <br />REDUCING THE SPEED LIMIT ANY FURTHER AT THIS TIME. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />AND CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. <br />IV <br />IT WAS VOTED ON <br />_I <br />
