B UREA U OF .JUSTICE ASSISTANCE <br />BULLETPROOF VEST PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM <br />The Board voiced concerns over matching funds from the Sheriff's budget, and why <br />the bulletproof vests had not been budgeted. <br />Harry Hall, Comptroller of the Sheriff's Department, explained that the vests were <br />not considered capital items, and that they were accounted for in the expense budget, along with <br />the uniforms. He said he would provide the Board with additional information. <br />Discussion ensued regarding responsibility issues, the number of vests to be <br />purchased, and the five year replacement program. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Flescher, SECONDED by <br />Vice Chairman Davis, the Board unanimously approved the <br />Sheriff's office request to grant dollars for the purchase of <br />20 replacement bulletproof vests through the U.S. <br />Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance <br />Bulletproof Vest Partnership Program, as requested in the <br />letter dated March 26, 2008. <br />10.
