NOV 2 11979 <br />V. COMPANY FIRST AID PROGRAM <br />BOOK 42 PACE 14-5 <br />THE MANAGEMENT SHALL ADOPT A FIRST AID PROGRAM WHICH SHALL <br />PROVIDE FOR: <br />A. A TRAINED ATTENDANT ON EACH SHIFT AND ONE EACH REMOTE JOB <br />LOCATION. <br />B. PROPER TYPE OF SUPPLIES OF SUFFICIENT QUANTITY, KEPT IN <br />WELL SEALED CONTAINERS, AND RESTOCKED AS NEEDED. <br />C. BASIC TYPE FIRST AID KIT AT ALL JOB SITES. <br />VI. COMPANY ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION PROGRAM <br />THE COMPANY SHALL IMPLEMENT AN ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION PROGRAM <br />WHICH WILL INVESTIGATE AND RECORD ALL ACCIDENTS INVOLVING PER- <br />SONNEL, INCLUDING MEDICAL ONLY INJURIES, AND ACCIDENTS IN WHICH <br />MATERIAL, EQUIPMENT AND/OR MACHINES WERE DAMAGED. THE INVESTIGA- <br />TION SHOULD DETERMINE ALL OBTAI14ABLE FACTS OF EACH ACCIDENT AND <br />CITE CORRECTIVE MEASURES FOR IMPLEMENTATION. <br />VII. COMPANY RECORDKEEPING <br />THE MANAGEMENT SILNLL UTILIZE A RECORDKEEPING SYSTEM, WHICH MAY BE <br />SELECTED TO KEEP OSHA RECORDS. THIS RECORDKEEPING SYSTEM SHALL <br />BREAK DOWN INJURIES RECORDED BY TYFE OF ACCIDENT, AGENCIES, NATURE, <br />BODY LOCATION, AND BASIC CAUSE (LACK OF TRAINING, EXPERIMENTATION, <br />POOR I14PLEMEITTATION OF JOB PROCEDURE, ETC.). THESE RECORDS MUST <br />BE KEPT UP-TO-DATE. <br />ROBERT JONES APPROACHED THE BOARD AND EXPLAINED SOME <br />OF THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE NEW WORKERS' COMPENSATION LAW; THE <br />STATE IS NOW SAYING THAT EVERY EMPLOYER WILL HAVE A SAFETY PROGRAM. <br />HE RECOMMENDED THAT ONE SAFETY POLICY BE ADOPTED IN THE COUNTY <br />AS HE FELT THIS WOULD BE THE EASIEST WAY; THE PROGRAM IS BROKEN <br />DOWN BY OCCUPATION,SO IT CAN BE DETERMINED WHERE THE ACCIDENTS <br />ARE HAPPENING. MR. .JONES NOTED THAT THEY HAVE PUT TOGETHER A <br />CONTROL PLAN AND ONE SECTION IS ENFORCING THE STANDARDS, THE <br />OTHER IS A TYPE OF AUDIT TO MAKE SURE THAT THE SAFETY PROGRAM <br />IS MAINTAINED. HE CONTINUED THAT HE WILL BE WORKING 'WITH PERSONNEL <br />DIRECTOR DONLON TO COORDINATE THIS SAFETY PROGRAM, BUT THE COUNTY <br />MUST COME UP WITH A FORMAL SAFETY PROGRAM. <br />DISCUSSION FOLLOWED REGARDING PENALTIES FOR NOT REPORTING <br />INJURIES, AND OF COUNTY RECORD KEEPING. <br />THE BOARD THANKED PSR. JONES FOR HIS PRESENTATION AND <br />NOTED THAT PERSONNEL DIRECTOR DONLON HAS A COPY IN HIS OFFICE <br />OF THE RECOMMENDED SAFETY PROGRAM. <br />
