Are -,ou familiar with the facilities, operations, and <br />procedures of the Vero.Shores and Vero Beach <br />High=ands? <br />(A.) Yes, I am. <br />2. (Q.) Have you read Exhibit 1, Attachment 3 and that portion <br />of Exhibit 2 relating to the system facilities of the <br />Application submitted to the Indian River County <br />Commission in this case? ?Is it true and accurate in <br />its description of the facilities? Could you summarize <br />for us the facilities as they existed during the test <br />year for both water and sewer systems? What upgrading <br />of the system or increased capacity occurred during <br />that time frame and subsequently? <br />(A.) Yes, I have read Exhibit 1, Attachment 3 and also <br />Exhibit 2. To the best of my knowledge and belief it <br />is true and accurate in its description of the <br />facilities. <br />The waste water treatment facilities that existed <br />during the test year were a complete mix activated <br />sludge treatment process consisting of a comminutor, <br />aeration tank, settling tank, aerobic digester, an <br />anaerobic digester, effluent weir chamber. oxidation <br />ponds, chlorine contact chamber, percolation ponds <br />X. disposal of plant effluent, and grass farm type <br />sludZe beds for disposal of sludge. There was also <br />.a 50,% diesel poweredgenerator installed for emergency <br />or sand -by electrical power. These facilities as <br />outlined had a capacity of .25MGD. This system was <br />completed and put in service the latter Fart of 1977, <br />it replaced a .07?9GD Imhoff type clarifier/digester <br />DEC 111979. Bog -PACE CDC <br />
