REQ UEST FOR A UTHORIZATION TO SUBMIT AN FY 2008/09 GRANT <br />APPLICATION FOR 49 USC CH. 53, SECTION 5307 AMERICAN RECOVERY <br />AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) MASS TRANSIT CAPITAL GRANT <br />(LEGISLATIVE) <br />PROOF OF PUBLICATION OF ADVERTISEMENT FOR HEARING IS ON FILE IN THE <br />OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />Phil Matson, Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Staff Director, presented <br />background information, conditions, and analysis on the request to apply for the subject Grant <br />Funds, to be used to construct a new transit administration/bus parking facility for the Indian <br />River Transit/Community Coach system, on the west side of 43rd Avenue, north of the <br />Supervisor of Elections Building Mr. Matson divulged that $2.110 million of Federal Transit <br />Administration (FTA) funds would be allocated to the County; that no matching funds would be <br />required; and that approximately 50 jobs would be created in conjunction with this project. He <br />thereafter requested that the Board open the Public Hearing and then authorize staff to formally <br />apply for the Grant Funds. <br />The Chairman opened the Public Hearing. <br />There being no speakers, the Chairman closed the Public Hearing. <br />15 <br />May 5, 2009 <br />
