<br />9.B.3. PUBLIC DISCUSSION ITEM – TIM ZORC’S REQUEST TO <br />RD <br />DISCUSS 43 AVENUE WIDENING PROJECT <br />th <br />Tim Zorc <br />, 4415 5 Place SW, was in favor of the five-lane project. He mentioned <br />public projects that would not meet concurrency with a three-lane project besides Vero Millworks, <br />Inc.: <br /> <br />a)County Utilities Facilities Maintenance Building <br /> <br />b)County jail expansion <br /> <br />c)Vacant industrial land around the Vero Beach airport <br /> <br />d)The Piper area <br /> <br />e)The church being relocated to accommodate the new Administration building <br /> <br />f)New Administration Building <br /> <br />He displayed a sketch of a boulevard concept that would give a residential feel to the <br />rd <br />project. He said the scope of service for the design on 43 Avenue left out a critical element of holding <br />public workshops. He made the following suggestions: <br /> <br /> <br />a)Establish rules and guidelines for when a road widening project leaves a certain distance <br />from an existing home <br /> <br />b)Purchase the homes involved in the right-of-way acquisition and not place the burden on <br />the homeowner <br /> <br />c)Reconsider the Board’s decision at their May 17 meeting <br /> <br />NO ACTION REQUIRED OR TAKEN. <br /> <br />JUNE 1, 2004 <br />20 <br /> <br />
