IRC’RSEU <br />NDIAN IVER OUNTYS EQUEST FOR PECIAL XCEPTION SE <br />AACCF <br />PPROVAL FOR AN DDITION TO A HILD ARE ACILITY <br />PROOF OF PUBLICATION OF ADVERTISEMENT FOR HEARING IS ON FILE IN THE <br />OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br /> <br />Planning Director Stan Boling recapped his memorandum of June 5, 2007, and <br />through a PowerPoint presentation, discussed the proposed addition of a separate building to the <br />south end of the old Wabasso Elementary School site, where the Dasie Hope Center is housed. He <br />divulged that surrounding property owners had been notified via letters and Public Notice, and a <br />neighboring property owner had sent a letter of support; no letters of objection were received. <br />Director Boling displayed the location for the proposed site and discussed the improvements that <br />will be made along with construction of the building. He related that Planning & Zoning (P&Z) <br />and staff had unanimously approved this item. He asked for the Board’s approval of this item, and <br />invited questions from the Board. <br /> <br />There were no questions from the Board and the Chairman opened the public <br />hearing. There were no speakers, and the Chairman closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />ON MOTION by Vice Chair Bowden, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Flescher, the Board unanimously found that <br />(1) It is empowered under the provisions of Chapter 971 to <br />review the special exception applied for; (2) the granting of <br />the special exception will not adversely affect the public <br />interest; (3) the application satisfies the general and <br />specific criteria required for special exception approval; <br />and (4) the site plan design is adequate to ensure <br />compatibility between the special exception use and <br />June 12, 2007 14 <br /> <br />
