COMMISSIONER Loy CONFIRMED THAT -THIS IS THE WISH OF THE <br />TWO VOLUNTEER GROUPS CONTACTED, WHICH IS ALSO SUPPORTED BY THE MUN- <br />ICIPALITIES, AND COMMISSIONER DEESON BELIEVED ROSELAND WILL RECOMMEND <br />THE SAME. <br />CHAIRMAN SIEBERT AGREED AND STATED THAT THEY GOT THE <br />INDICATION THAT WAS REALLY THE BIG PROBLEM ROSELAND HAD WITH THE <br />DISTRICT AS ORIGINALLY PROPOSED, AND WITH THESE CHANGES IT WOULD BE <br />ACCEPTABLE TO THEM. <br />COMMISSIONER LYONS INQUIRED ABOUT THAT NOTATION ON HIS <br />COPY OF THE PROPOSED ORDINANCE WHICH SHOWS I MILL CHANGED TO 1/2 MILL. <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS EXPLAINED THAT HIS RESEARCH OF THE STATUTE <br />INDICATED THERE PRESENTLY IS NO AUTHORITY TO BORROW FUNDS FOR THE <br />DISTRICT, AND HE WANTED TO PROVIDE A LITTLE LEEWAY, BUT IT WAS CLEARLY <br />INDICATED THAT THEY PREFERRED 1/2 MILL. HE CONTINUED THAT THE DISTRICT <br />WILL INCLUDE BOTH THE CITIES OF FELLSMERE AND SEBASTIAN, AS WELL AS <br />THE UNINCORPORATED AREAS: IT DOES NOT INCLUDE THE TOWN OF INDIAN <br />RIVER SHORES, AND THE SOUTH BOUNDARY IS HOBART ROAD. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER DEESON, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />Loy, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY AUTHORIZED THE ATTORNEY -TO ADVERTISE A <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON THE ORDINANCE CREATING THE NORTH -INDIAN RIVER <br />COUNTY FIRE DISTRICT THROUGH REFERENDUM ELECTION FOR THE MEETING OF <br />FEBRUARY 6, 1980, AT 9:45 O'CLOCK A.M. <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS NOTED THAT THE COUNTY IS CURRENTLY LEASING <br />SPACE IN THE POCAHONTAS BUILDING FOR THE PLANNING & ZONING DEPARTMENTS. <br />THE LEASE EXPIRES THE END OF THIS MONTH. HE STATED THAT HE HAS PRE- <br />PARED AN EXTENSION FOR AN ADDITIONAL 15 MONTHS BECAUSE HE IS TRYING <br />TO COORDINATE WITH THE BUILDING OF THE NEW ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES. <br />HE INFORMED THE BOARD THAT MRS. MAHER IS WILLING TO EXTEND ON THE <br />SAME TERMS AS BEFORE. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER WODTKE, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />LYONS, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED THE EXTENSION AGREEMENT FOR <br />SPACE IN THE POCAHONTAS APARTMENT BUILDING FOR THE PLANNING R: ZONING <br />DEPARTMENTS AND AUTHORIZED THE SIGNATURE OF THE CHAIRMAN. <br />JAN 43 soaK 'PACE' <br />91900 <br />
