Susan Boyd, 8025 24th Street, disclosed that she was a candidate for County <br />Commission, and voiced her support for the moratorium extension, and for establishing good <br />mining regulations. <br />There were no additional speakers and the Chairman closed the public hearing. <br />Vice Chairman Davis divulged that he had a conflict of interest due to his brother's <br />ownership of a mine; thus, he would not vote on the moratorium. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner O'Bryan , SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Wheeler, the Board, by a 4-0 vote (Vice <br />Chairman Davis recused himself) adopted Ordinance <br />2008-012, extending by six months to January 7, 2009, the <br />moratorium on the acceptance of applications and <br />processing of applications for mining Administrative <br />permit approvals and issuance of mining permits; <br />providing for prohibition; providing for exemptions; <br />providing for conflicts; providing for severability; setting <br />forth effective and expiration dates. <br />Clerk's Note: Form 8B, Memorandum of Voting Conflict for County, Municipal <br />and other Local Public Officers, is on file in the office of the Clerk to the Board. <br />17 <br />June 17, 2008 <br />
