MOTION WAS AMENDED by Commissioner O'Bryan, <br />Seconded by Chairman Wheeler, to send a letter of <br />objection regarding the proposed land swap between St. <br />Johns River Water Management District and the Corrigan <br />Family, to SJRWMD Governing Board, Governor and <br />Cabinet, State Representatives and Senators, based upon <br />the fact that this land should remain in public ownership for <br />conservation. <br />Commissioner Flescher did not like the letter of objection. Vice Chair Bowden wanted to <br />work with St. Johns River Water Management District so the Board would have representation. <br />Commissioner Davis wanted to send a letter of support for the property to remain in conservation <br />and in public ownership. He also wanted the County to be in the position of purchasing the <br />property should SJRWMD decide to surplus it. <br />The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION and by a 2-3 <br />vote (Commissioners Davis, Bowden, & Flescher <br />opposed), the Motion FAILED. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Davis, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Flescher, the Board unanimously approved <br />that a Resolution (2007-022) be sent to the SJRWMD <br />Governing Board, stating that the County would like to see <br />this piece of property kept in public ownership and in <br />June 19, 2007 37 <br />
