JAN 2 31980 Boos 42 PAGE 561 <br />ASSISTANT ADMINISTRATOR NELSON DISTRIBUTED LETTERS FROM <br />FREDA WRIGHT, CLERK OF THE CIRCUIT COURT; SAM JOYCE, SHERIFF; AND <br />ROSEMARY RICHEY, SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS, REQUESTING THE BOARD ADD <br />GOOD FRIDAY AS A HOLIDAYâ–º <br />MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER WODTKE, SECONDED BY COM- <br />MISSIONER Loy, TO ACCEPT THE 1980 HOLIDAY SCHEDULE AS SET OUT IN <br />THE JANUARY 10, 1980 MEMO. <br />CHAIRMAN SIEBERT ASKED IF THE CONSTITUTIONAL -OFFICERS HAVE <br />THE RIGHT TO SET THEIR OWN HOLIDAY SCHEDULES. <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS STATED HE THOUGHT IT CAME BEFORE THE BOARD <br />TO ESTABLISH A POLICY. <br />COMMISSIONER LYONS COMMENTED THAT HE WOULD LIKE TO APPROACH <br />THIS MATTER DIFFERENTLY AND CONSIDER CALLING THE NINTH HOLIDAY AS A <br />FLOATING HOLIDAY AND SCHEDULE IT ACCORDING TO THE BOARDS WISHES. HE <br />FELT THAT WE HAVE ONE HOLIDAY THAT IS A MAVERICK - THE FRIDAY AFTER <br />CHRISTMAS, AND THAT IS THE HOLIDAY THAT COULD BE TERMED A FLOATING <br />HOLIDAY. <br />DISCUSSION FOLLOWED ALONG THOSE LINES. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION.
