<br />Commissioner Wheeler updated Representative Mayfield as to Indian River <br />County’s efforts toward presenting a bill and resolutions to the Legislature to help protect the <br />County’s Urban Service Area (USA), asking for a Special Act of the Legislature that would <br />apply only to Indian River County requiring a binding referendum by the voters of this County to <br />make changes <br /> <br />Mayfield <br />Representative felt those types of decisions are usually better left up to <br />local government but he will keep an open mind. <br /> <br />Renee Renzi, <br />Waverly Place, questioned Representative Mayfield about what <br />steps the State could take in solving the affordable housing problem in Indian River County. <br /> <br />Mayfield <br />Representative stated that possibly exempting impact fees for affordable <br />housing could help the problem. <br /> <br />5.B.
