J. D n <br />Sworn to and subscribed before this '—Yary of A.D._ <br />(Business Manager) <br />(Clerk of the Circuit Court,kindian River County, Florida) <br />(SEAL) 1 - <br />NOTICE <br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN thatthe Board <br />of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County, Florida, will hold a public hearing on <br />February 6, 1980 at 9:45 A.M. in the County <br />Commission Chambers in the Indian River <br />County Courthouse to consider the adoption of: ' <br />An Ordinance Creating the North Indian <br />River County Fire District through referen- <br />dum election; an independent Special District <br />within the definition of Article VII, Section 9 <br />(b), Chapters 218 and 12S, Florida Statutes; <br />defining the boundaries thereof; authorizing <br />the said Fire District to assume certain fire . <br />prevention and control responsibilities at <br />present vested in the Board -of County Com- <br />missioners and in the municipalities situate <br />within the boundaries of the,said taxing unit; <br />providing for the appointment of a District <br />Board of Fire Commissioners to be comprised <br />of the Board of County Commissioners of In- <br />dian River County; specifying the rights and <br />duties of said District Board of Fire Com- <br />missioners; authorizing the levy and collection <br />of a tax by the said Fire District for the support <br />thereof and not to exceed one-half (1/2) mill of <br />the assessed valuation of all real and tangible <br />property within the boundaries thereof: <br />providing for the adoption of a budget and <br />assessment; and providing an effective date. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COM- <br />MISSIONERS OF <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />By: -s -Willard W. HE CONTINUED THAT FOR WELL <br />OVER A YEAR THE COMMITTEE, APPOINTED BY THE VARIOUS MUNICIPALITIES <br />IN THE NORTH PART OF THE COUNTY, HAVE MET TO WORK TOWARDS A COMMON <br />GOAL OF ESTABLISHING A FIRE DISTRICT. THE ATTORNEY NOTED THAT THE <br />DRAFT, AS PRESENTED TODAY, REPRESENTS THE FINAL CONCLUSIONS AND <br />RECOMMENDATIONS OF THAT COMMITTEE.
