3. INTRODUCTIONS <br />Utilities Services Director Erik Olson introduced the following individuals: <br />Deputy Director of St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD) Mike Slayton; <br />Utility Services Engineer Himanshu Mehta; Capital Projects Manager Mike Hotchkiss; Henry <br />Dean with Water Management; Jill Grimaldi and Dr. Patrick Gleason, Consultants with Camp <br />Dresser and McKee, Inc. (CDM) <br />4. PROJECT HISTORY <br />Director Olson provided a brief history of the project, announced that this public <br />workshop was the second of two, and stated the purpose was to develop a future pathway to <br />supplement the County's current water supply system and water treatment process. Through a <br />PowerPoint presentation, he provided a "demand and implementation schedule", which reflected <br />production capacity and maximum customer demands from 2005 through 2025. Director Olson <br />informed the Board that the decisions made at this workshop would be formally introduced to the <br />Board in July, and that the project would need to be in place by 2017. <br />A. OVERVIEW OF GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FOR WORKSHOP <br />B. NORTH COUNTY WATER TREATMENT PLANT EXPANSION <br />Utility Service Engineer Himanshu Mehta, used a PowerPoint presentation to brief <br />the Board on the County's two water treatment plants, pointing out that the County's public <br />water supply has been relying on the North and South Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants for over 25 <br />years. <br />Engineer Mehta explained that the Master Plan of 2004 provided for the expansion <br />of the North County water plant, and said the expected completion would be in 2009.
