Avenue and 41st. Street Conducted <br />January 28th, and January 29ta, 1980.' <br />This survey was conducted by the following personnel: <br />Sgt. Parsley, Sgt. Griesser, Deputy Coleman. <br />On Monday the 28th, between the hours of 8:15 and 9:15 A.M. <br />one student was observed crossing the intersection. On <br />Monday the 28th, between the hours of 1500 and 1600, forty <br />children were observed walking and five on bicycles, totalling <br />45, crossing that intersection. <br />On.Tuesday the 29th, between the hours,of 8:00 and 9:15A.M. no <br />students were observed at this intersection. On Tuesday, <br />between 1500 and 1600 six walking students were observed at this <br />intersection. <br />In.accordance with recommendations from these observing Law <br />Enforcement Officers, the safety of this corner could be increased <br />by lowering the speed limit on South Gifford Road to 35 miles an <br />hour (now 45); by establishing a school crossing at this inter- <br />section which will include cross walks and the.proper signs prior <br />to entering the intersection. <br />OtaiV Doyle%Stroud <br />i e f ty7 <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER Loy, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />LYONS, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY AUTHORIZED THE ADMINISTRATOR TO PROCEED <br />WITH LOWERING THE SPEED LIMIT IN THE VICINITY OF 41ST STREET AND <br />43RD AVENUE AS REQUESTED BY SUPERINTENDENT BURNS IN HIS LETTER OF <br />FEBRUARY 6, 1980, <br />ASSISTANT ADMINISTRATOR NELSON WITHDREW THE ADMINISTRATOR'S <br />ITEM 22 A. IN REGARD TO GROUP HEALTH AND LIFE INSURANCE FROM TODAY'S <br />AGENDA. <br />ADMINISTRATOR JENNINGS REQUESTED THAT AN ITEM IN REGARD <br />TO A ROAD PROGRAM IN CONJUNCTION WITH OSCEOLA COUNTY BE ADDED TO <br />TODAY IS AGENDA. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER Loy, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />LYONS, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY ADDED THE ABOVE EMERGENCY ITEM TO TODAY'S <br />AGENDA AS REQUESTED BY THE ADMINISTRATOR. <br />
