Commissioner O'Bryan confirmed with Mr. Hall that this request was a State <br />unfunded mandate. Mr. Hall also confirmed for Chairman Wheeler that the cost for the system is <br />$216,698.00, none of which would be funded by the State. <br />The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION and the Motion <br />carried unanimously, approving the $100,000.00 from the <br />Law Enforcement Trust Fund. <br />Motion WAS MADE by Commissioner Davis, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Flescher, under discussion, <br />to approve the $45,639.00 proceeds from the surplus <br />auction to be utilized for the like -kind purchase, as <br />requested in the letter of May 16, 2007. <br />Chairman Wheeler questioned the movement of the $1.2 million funds from salary <br />and could not imagine that the $45,639.00 was that important. He thought the money should come <br />back to the General Fund of the County. <br />Commissioner Davis believed that in this situation it would be more appropriate that <br />these funds go directly back to the equipment. <br />The Chairman Called the Question and by a 4-1 vote <br />(Chairman Wheeler opposed) the Board approved for the <br />Sheriff's Office to use the $45,639.00 to acquire new <br />like -kind materials and equipment, as requested in the letter <br />of May 16, 2007. <br />9.
