ORDINANCE AMENDMENT TO PROVIDE CHARGING A <br />REGISTRATION FEE FOR SEX OFFENDERS AND PREDATORS, <br />CAREER FELONS AND CONVICTED FELONS (LEGISLATIVE) <br />PROOF OF PUBLICATION OF ADVERTISEMENT FOR HEARING IS ON FILE IN THE <br />OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />Sheriff Deryl Loar recalled this to have been brought before the Board of County <br />Commission Meeting on May 19, 2009, seeking approval to charge a fee for the sexual <br />predators, sexual offenders, and career criminals that come to this County and register. <br />Commissioner Solari asked the Sheriff which option was preferred, and Jim Harpring, <br />Indian River County Sheriff's General Counsel recommended the Board approve the Ordinance <br />with Optional 1 language, and provided the reasons why. <br />The Chairman opened the public hearing, and stated the proposed registration fees: <br />$50.00 for the initial registration, $25.00 for each annual registration, and $10.00 for a change of <br />address or other information. There being no speakers, the Chairman closed the public hearing. <br />15 <br />June 9, 2009 <br />
