Siebert, Jr. <br />Chairman Board County Commission <br />2145 14th Avenue <br />Indian River County Courthouse <br />Vero Beach, Florida 32960 gQ RQ couITv i `' <br />Dear Sir, z, <br />It is the collective attitude of the Indian River Safety <br />Council that a more concerted effort should be made to com- <br />plete facilities for bicycle travel within the County and <br />City. in furtherance of this goal, the Safety Council <br />respectfully recommends that local zoning ordinances be <br />amended to require curb cuts and bicycle paths in all site <br />plan approvals for future subdivision developments. This <br />change would ensure the creation of needed paths without the <br />expenditure of future tax dollars. <br />The Indian River Safety Council respectfully submits this <br />proposal to the County Commission with the sincere hope that <br />this can be implemented in the near future. <br />n <br />;Re pectfully yours, <br />Scott B. Bing <br />President <br />SBB/abs <br />COMMISSIONER WODTKE REPORTED THAT AT A MEETING RECENTLY, <br />.JOE j.DLETTE AGREED TO SERVE WITH HIM ON THE CENSUS COMMITTEE, AND THE <br />SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS HAS AGREED THAT HIS STAFF WILL TRY TO GET <br />A COMPLETE COUNT ON THE CENSUS. HE CONTINUED THAT RAY DUBOSE, CHAMBER <br />OF COMMERCE DIRECTOR, ALSO HAS AGREED TO SERVE WITH HIM. COMMISSIONER <br />WODTKE NOTED HE WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A MEETING NEXT WEEK INVITING <br />REPRESENTATIVES FROM ALL AGENCIES, CIVIC GROUPS, ORGANIZATIONS, <br />SOCIETIES, ASSOCIATIONS, ETC., TO TALK ABOUT THE CENSUS — WHAT USE <br />IT WILL BE PUT T0, AND THE DIRE NEED FOR HAVING THE FORMS FILLED OUT <br />PROPERLY. HE THEN ASKED THE BOARDS HELP IN FINDING SPEAKERS TO <br />MAR 5 19 80 28 <br />
