BUILDING DIRECTOR RYMER INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THE NOTICES <br />SENT TO DR. FENNER CAME BACK UNCLAIMED. SHE CONTINUED THAT DR. <br />FENNER AND AN ARCHITECT VISITED HER LAST WEEK, AND THE ARCHITECT FIRST <br />CALLED HER AND SAID HIS FIRST RECOMMENDATION WOULD BE FOR DR. FENNER <br />TO REMOVE THE BUILDINGS AND START FROM SCRATCH; THEY THEN CAME IN AND <br />TALKED ABOUT•USING THESE BUILDINGS AS OFFICES INSTEAD OF A MOTEL. <br />MRS. RYMER STATED THAT SHE ADVISED THEM TO CONTACT A STRUCTURAL <br />ENGINEER TO DETERMINE WHAT THEY CAN SALVAGE, AND SHE ASKED FOR <br />DEFINITE INFORMATION THAT A STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS HAS BEEN DONE. MRS. <br />RYMER FELT IF PROFESSIONAL MEN HAVE DONE THIS, THEY WOULD HAVE PUT IT <br />IN WRITING. SHE REITERATED THAT SHE TOLD DR. FENNER AND HIS ARCHITECT <br />EXACTLY WHAT HAD TO BE DONE, AND SHE HAS NOT SEEN OR HEARD FROM THEM <br />SINCE. MRS. RYMER REPORTED THAT SHE DID SEND AN INSPECTOR UP TO THE <br />MOTEL TO PUT A STOP WORK ORDER ON THE JOB BECAUSE THEY WERE REROOFING <br />SOME OF THE BUILDINGS, AND YOU CANNOT DO THIS ON CONDEMNED BUILDINGS <br />WITHOUT THE ELECTRICAL, ETC., BEING APPROVED FIRST. SHE CONTINUED THAT <br />THEY COMMENCED REROOFING AGAIN, AND SHE HAD TO STOP THEM AGAIN. MRS. <br />RYMER STATED THAT THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT IS MAINTAINING THAT NOT <br />ONLY THE STRUCTURAL PART OF THE BUILDING.IS NOT ACCORDING TO CODE, <br />BUT THAT THE PLUMBING AND ELECTRICAL HAVE -TO BE BROUGHT UP TO CODE. <br />CHAIRMAN SIEBERT INQUIRED IF DR. FENNER DOES NEED A PERMIT <br />FOR ROOFING, AND MRS. RYMER STATED THAT HE DOES AND ONE WAS NOT <br />CHAIRMAN SIEBERT CALLED DR. FENNER BACK AND NOTED THAT HE <br />HAS NOT BEEN COOPERATIVE UP TO THIS DATE, AND DR. FENNER INQUIRED <br />WHAT THE BOARD WISHED HIM TO DO. <br />COMMISSIONER WODTKE SUGGESTED THAT HE COULD PICK UP HIS <br />MAIL FOR A START. <br />DR. FENNER STATED THAT IF THE BOARD AND THE BUILDING DEPART- <br />MENT FEELS HIS BUILDINGS ARE SUB -STANDARD, HE WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THIS <br />QUALIFIED BY A PROFESSIONAL STRESS AND STRUCTURAL ENGINEER SO THAT HE <br />CAN EITHER REFUTE OR NOT REFUTE THIS CLAIM. HE INFORMED THE BOARD THAT <br />HE HAS BEEN TO THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT WITH A BREAKDOWN ON THE <br />54 <br />MAR 51980 � 42'86 <br />
