Jennings, County Administrator <br />Robert Donlon, Personnel Director <br />February 25, 1980 <br />Due to the resignation of John Hrkach, I would like to <br />recommend that Jerry Cook be promoted to Pay Grade 13, Veterans' <br />Service Officer. <br />In his present position as Assistant Service Officer, he <br />has proven to be more than satisfactory. He meets all the qualifications <br />for the position as required by the State and County. <br />His appointment should become effective March 28, 1980, and <br />if this appointment is approved, we should start a search for an Assistant <br />Veterans' Officer as soon as possible. <br />_ V <br />R. D. <br />I concur with the recommendation of the Personnel <br />Director and recommend approval by the Board of <br />County Commissioners. <br />/lh <br />J. <br />MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER WODTKE, SECONDED BY COMMIS- <br />SIONER LOY, TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 80-26 APPOINTING JERRY COOK AS <br />VETERANS SERVICE OFFICER EFFECTIVE MARCH 28, 1980, <br />DISCUSSION FOLLOWED AS TO PAY RANGE, AND ASSISTANT ADMINIS- <br />TRATOR NELSON STATED THAT THERE IS A PAY GRADE AND BASIC ENTRY LEVEL <br />FOR THAT POSITION, AND THE REGULATIONS READ THAT WITHIN SIX MONTHS IF <br />HE IS SATISFACTORY, HE GETS A 5% INCREASE. HE FELT THE PRESENT <br />VETERANS SERVICE OFFICER IS IN A 12 CATEGORY. <br />PERSONNEL OFFICER DONLON CONFIRMED THAT THE PRESENT SERVICE <br />OFFICER, .JOHN HRKACH, IS IN GRADE 12.
