The applicant filed an appeal in a timely manner, then requested delays to be <br />reconsidered in order to have time to meet with the adjacent property owners. Staff’s opinion was <br />non-compatibility with the auto racetrack and an airstrip was the reason for the denial by P&Z. <br />However, staff does not feel there is going to be a significant environmental impact, and therefore <br />supported the rezoning. <br />Commissioner Lowther pointed out the auto track is in fact a racetrack, and questioned <br />whether it would be appropriate to allow development. Staff’s perspective was the applicant <br />should not be penalized because these adjacent properties exist, but the applicant would have to <br />workout suitable arrangements with those property owners. <br /> <br />The Chairman opened the public hearing. <br /> <br />JULY 11, 2006 <br />20 <br /> <br />
