There are road projects that need <br />improvement for which staff is not allowed to use impact fee monies. Staff wants to try and get as <br />much money to help complete the road projects as quickly as possible. <br />There was concern whether the timing is right, but the County Attorney advised <br />the change cannot be imposed until July 2006. <br />Discussion ensued regarding why gas is cheaper outside of Vero Beach. <br />Tim Zorc <br />, President of the Treasure Coast Builder’s Association, spoke in favor <br />th <br />of the 9 cent. He also asked the Board not to have night meetings because they did not fare well <br />at home. <br />Commissioner Wheeler requested that public hearings be held during the day. <br />Chairman Lowther personally was not in favor of increasing the gas tax but he <br />wanted to get public input. <br /> <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wheeler, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bowden, the Board unanimously <br />July 12, 2005 27 <br /> <br />
