MAR 19 1980 - - BOOK - '43 PAGE 68 <br />WANTED THE COUNTY TO AGREE TO COMMIT ALL THE PROPERTY THEY OWN AT <br />THIS SITE FOR FUTURE PARKING ARRANGEMENT, AND HE ALSO WANTED THE <br />COUNTY TO AGREE TO PROVIDE AN ADDITIONAL 104 PARKING SPACES WITHIN <br />ONE YEAR AFTER WE OCCUPY THE BUILDING AND THEN ATTEMPT TO ELIMINATE <br />ALL THE ON -STREET PARKING. MR. NELSON CONTINUED THAT AFTER DISCUSSING <br />THIS WITH COMMISSIONER LOY AND PLANNING DIRECTOR REVER, HE WOULD <br />RECOMMEND THAT THAT WORDING BE CHANGED TO READ THAT THE COUNTY WILL <br />PROVIDE "A PORTION" OF THE DESCRIBED LANDS FOR FUTURE USE AS PARKING <br />AREAS AND ALSO RECOMMENDED THAT A PROVISION BE -INSERTED IN THE COUNTY <br />RESOLUTION STATING THAT THE COUNTY WOULD NOT BE PRECLUDED FROM CON- <br />STRUCTION OF APPROVED PARKING STRUCTURES OR USE OF THE ABUTTING <br />DRAINAGE DISTRICT LAND FOR PARKING AREA. HE FURTHER NOTED IN REGARD <br />TO ON -STREET PARKING THAT HE FELT WE SHOULD NOT ELIMINATE THE 86 ON - <br />STREET PARKING SPACES UNTIL IT WAS SHOWN THEY WERE A SAFETY HAZARD <br />AND UNTIL WE FULLY UTILIZED ALL EXISTING SPACES. <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS ASKED HOW EVERYTHING GOT THIS FAR ALONG <br />WITH SUCH A WIDE DIFFERENTIAL ON THE PARKING SITUATION. <br />COMMISSIONER LYONS FELT THAT MR. SCHLITT HAD NOT PURSUED <br />THIS VIGOROUSLY ENOUGH AND DID NOT SUBMIT IT EARLY ENOUGH. <br />PLANNING DIRECTOR REVER STATED THAT HE WAS JUST INFORMED <br />ABOUT THIS A FEW DAYS AGO, AND THIS SUPPOSEDLY IS BASED ON THEIR <br />REGULATIONS AND WOULD BE REQUIRED OF ANY DEVELOPER, EXCEPT FOR THE <br />ON -STREET - OFF-STREET PARKING SITUATION. <br />ATTORNEY_.COLLINS STATED THAT HE COULD ENVISON A RESOLUTION <br />SAYING WE DO HAVE LANDS IN CERTAIN DESCRIBED BLOCKS AND WILL ALLOCATE <br />ENOUGH OF THESE LANDS FOR THE NECESSARY PARKING, BUT HE DID NOT FEEL <br />WE SHOULD PIN DOWN SPECIF-IC LOTS. <br />COMMISSIONER LYONS AGREED. <br />COMMISSIONER LOY ASKED PLANNING DIRECTOR REVER IF HE WAS <br />SATISFIED THAT THE CITY'S PARKING FORMULA PERTAINS TO A COURTHOUSE <br />ADMINISTRATIVE FACILITY, AND MR. REVER STATED THAT HE HAD NOT HAD TIME <br />TO GO INTO IT IN DEPTH, BUT THEY ARE SAYING IT IS THE TYPE FACILITY <br />ALLOWED IN THAT ZONE, <br />HE NOTED IT IS A LOT LIKE OUR ZONE BUT THERE <br />
