A. COMMISSIONER GARY C. WHEELER , CHAIRMAN <br />1. REQUEST FOR CONSIDERATION OF THE CREATION OF AN <br />ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PLANTING OF HOST PLANTS OF <br />HUANGLONGBING <br />Chairman Wheeler introduced Mr. Doug Bournique, Executive Vice President of <br />the Indian River Citrus League, who explained the citrus greening disease has moved from Florida <br />City to Marion County, but it has not been present in Indian River County. He was interested in <br />taking steps to prohibit the planting of host plants of Huanglongbing in our County. <br />Planning Director Stan Boling informed the Board that the formal process of <br />prohibiting it is in the landscape ordinance. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Davis, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner O'Bryan, the Board unanimously directed <br />the County Attorney, or his designee, to draft an <br />amendment to the Landscape Ordinance prohibiting the <br />planting of host plants for Huanglongbing, and bring back <br />to the Board, as requested in the memorandum of July 10, <br />2007. <br />B.
