JOHN'S AMERICAN <br />HERITAGE RIVER INITIATIVE PRESENTATION - <br />MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR THE ST. JOHNS <br />RIVER ALLIANCE (ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION) <br />Ann Keller, St. Johns River Navigator, using a Power Point presentation explained <br />that the Board of Directors of the new St. Johns River Alliance, a non-profit corporation, will soon <br />supersede the St. John's Heritage River Initiative Steering Committee. The Alliance will continue <br />the efforts of the American Heritage River Initiative and will be focusing additional efforts in <br />addressing water quality and water quantity issues along the 12 county areas that constitute the <br />river's watershed. Also, the restructuring will give the Alliance more opportunities for funding <br />from different agencies. <br />Commissioner Neuberger asked Attorney Collins if he had any comments regarding <br />the Memorandum of Understanding. <br />Attorney Collins said he reviewed the Memorandum and the Articles of <br />Incorporation and he did not foresee any problem. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Neuberger, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Adams to accept the <br />August 12, 2003 8 <br />
