If her house had to be torn down, she <br />wanted to know if the foundation would be left, so she could rebuild in the same spot. <br />Mr. Akins responded that the portion of the slab foundation which was not <br />damaged would be left intact. <br />Commissioner O'Bryan inquired whether Mr. Akins would be okay with <br />granting an additional sixty (60) days to Ms. Clark, for the home at 4380 38th Avenue. Mr. <br />Akins responded that he had no objections to the extension. <br />Commissioner Wheeler felt that, in fairness, the 60 -day extension should apply <br />to those speakers who were interested enough to attend today's meeting, and he wanted to amend <br />his Motion. However, Commissioner Flescher reminded the Board that Mrs. Furet had already <br />been granted an extension, and nothing had changed. <br />Connie Jackson related information on her property at 4076 Old Dixie <br />Highway, which was owned jointly by eight families. She stated that attempts had been made to <br />ameliorate some of the problems; informed the Board that the property was listed for sale; and <br />asked for more time before the property is demolished. <br />Discussion ensued as the Board reviewed how best to afford the property <br />owners a change to bring their properties into compliance, and how this had been handled in the <br />past. <br />Assistant County Attorney William DeBraal observed that the property owners <br />are provided with two chances. In the past, the Board approved the Resolution, and directed <br />staff to obtain bids on the demolition structures.
