MAY 71980 mox 43 PAGE 452 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 80- 42 <br />WHEREAS, State Road 512 from I-95 East had been <br />scheduled in the construction year of 1980 to be widened and <br />improved; and <br />WHEREAS, State Road 512, between State Road 510 and <br />U. S. 1, constitutes a substantial traffic hazard, primarily <br />because of new school construction and increased traffic in <br />the:,area; and <br />WHEREAS, by eye -witness reports there is not sufficient <br />room on that portion of State Road 512 between State Road 510 <br />and U. S. 1 for a large dirt -hauling truck and school bus to <br />pass with both vehicles staying on the road; and <br />WHEREAS, there is a hill just West of the railroad tracks <br />on State Road 512 that constitutes a traffic hazard to East- <br />bound vehicles approaching the crossing and said hazard could <br />be eliminated by a redesign of the approach; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, That the Board <br />requests the Department of Transportation to re-establish the <br />funding for the widening and improving of State Road 512 between <br />State Road 510 and U. S. 1; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that when funds are available to - <br />the Department of Transportation that these funds be applied <br />to the above project. <br />day of <br />Said Resolution shall become effective as of the 7th <br />May , 1980. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA. <br />By— <br />il and W.
