MAY 2 119 90 <br />Boos.. <br />MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made this 6th day of May 1980, <br />by and between the TOWN OF INDIAN RIVER SHORES, a municipal <br />corporation of the State of Florida (hereinafter called "Town"), <br />and the CITY OF VERO BEACH, a municipal corporation of the <br />State of Florida (hereinafter called "City"), <br />WITNESSETH: <br />WHEREAS, the City of Vero Beach desires additional fire <br />protection service in the event of a structural fire within its <br />municipal boundaries; and <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Indian. River Shores may require <br />additional fire protection service in the event of a structural <br />fire within its municipal boundaries; and <br />WHEREAS, both parties are willing and able to assist the <br />other in. the event of a structural fire by providing immediate <br />fire fighting assistance; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, it is agreed by and between the parties in <br />consideration of the mutual promises set forth below that: <br />1. In the event of a fire or other emergency within the <br />now existing municipal boundary of the Town determined to require <br />outside assistance, it is the intention of the City to immediately <br />respond, upon request, with a minimum of one (1) Class A Pumper <br />and a crew therefor. <br />2. In the event of a fire or other emergency within the <br />now existing municipal boundary of the City determined to require <br />outside assistance, it is the intention of the Town to immediately <br />respond, upon request, with a minimum of one (1) Class A Pumper <br />and/or an aerial ladder truck and a crew therefor. <br />3. Additional men or equipment may be provided by the <br />assisting Fire Department only pursuant to the express approval <br />of the ranking officer of the assisting department at the scene <br />OF THE FIRE. <br />4. The ranking officer of the requesting department shall <br />have sole responsibility and authority to direct and control all <br />r <br />
