NIXON RESPONDED THAT THERE ARE ABOUT TWENTY PEOPLE WHO <br />CONTRIBUTED.TO RETAINING HIS SERVICES IN THIS MATTER. <br />N <br />JULIE LINDSTER, RAMONA PARK, NOTED THAT MR. BAILEY SAID <br />HE WILL PUT UP A NICE SHOPPING CENTER, BUT THEY HAVE NO GUARANTEE <br />THAT HE WILL CONTINUE TO KEEP IT. SHE THEN EXPRESSED CONCERN ABOUT <br />THE CRIMINAL ELEMENT THAT THE COMMERCIAL ZONING WOULD ATTRACT, AND <br />THE RESIDENTS WOULD NOT FEEL SAFE'IN THEIR HOMES. MS. LINDSTER FELT <br />THERE WOULD BE A DEVALUATION OF THEIR PROPERTY IN RAMONA PARK, AND <br />DID NOT.WANT TO HAVE THE NOISE AND CONFUSION IN THAT AREA. <br />SAM MOON, WHO RESIDES ON 8 ACRES IN TRACT 12 JUST SOUTH <br />OF THE SUBJECT PROPERTY, CAME BEFORE THE BOARD AND WAS OF THE OPINION <br />THAT ROUTE 60 AND KINGS HIGHWAY IS A MAJOR HIGHWAY INTERSECTION AND <br />THEREFORE, IS NOT A DESIRABLE RESIDENTIAL AREA, HE ADDED THAT HE <br />LOVES HIS OLD WOOD HOUSE, WISHED IT COULD BE THERE FOREVER, BUT TIME <br />DOES GO BY -'THE ENERGY SITUATION PREVENTS THEM FROM HAVING AIR <br />CONDITIONING IN THEIR HUGE HOME; THEREFORE, THE TRAFFIC NOISE IS <br />TREMENDOUS. MR. MOON STATED HE HAD NO PARTICULAR OBJECTION TO A <br />PROPERLY PLANNED AND REZONED DEVELOPMENT AS MR, BAILEY HAD DESCRIBED, <br />AND SOME TIME IN THE FUTURE HE MAY BE ASKING FOR A REZONING ALSO, <br />HE CONTINUED THAT THIS AREA IS THE ENTRANCE TO VERO BEACH AND SHOULD <br />REMAIN IN GOOD APPEARANCE; THE PROOF OF THE PUDDING IS HOW WELL THE <br />AREA IS MAINTAINED. MR. MOON ADVISED THE BOARD THAT HE HAS SPENT <br />TIME AND MONEY REMODELING HIS HOME AND PROPERTY TO MAKE IT MORE <br />ATTRACTIVE AND FELT THE OTHER CORNERS NOW ARE NOT ATTRACTIVE. HE <br />COMMENTED THAT MR. POTEAT JUST LIVES IN VERO BEACH A FEW MONTHS OF <br />THE YEAR AND HOPED THAT HE REMODELS HIS PROPERTY SO THAT IT WOULD <br />ALSO BE AN ASSET. -MR. MOON THEN STATED HE HAD NO OBJECTION TO THE <br />REZONING DIRECTLY NORTH OF HIS PROPERTY. <br />ROBERT SNOW, 2356 16TH AVENUE, CAME BEFORE THE BOARD AND <br />ASKED IF PROVISION HAD BEEN MADE FOR PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY AND PUBLIC <br />SEWER SERVICE TO THIS AREA, ALSO PROVISION FOR SURFACE WATER RUN-OFF. <br />
