Special District with Vero Beach <br />only with additional stations. <br />The initial assignment presented to SKA was determination <br />of the feasibility of option I -B, and the possibility <br />of implementing fire service and protection under this <br />option, by October 1,.1980. This assignment has been <br />expanded, somewhat, by the recent initiatives of the <br />City of Vero Beach along the lines of option II -B. <br />Option I -A <br />Under Option I -A, the County would create an MSTU for <br />the South County and North Beach areas, which would be <br />utilized to continue the present practice of making <br />payments to the City of Vero Beach and Town of Indian <br />River Shores. Based upon past County Commission policies, <br />we estimate -total contract payments at approximately <br />$445,000 for FY 1980-81, with tax collection fees, <br />miscellaneous expenses, and contingencies bringing the <br />net revenue requirement to approximately $485,000. <br />Based upon an estimated assessed valuation for the <br />MSTU of $400 million, the millage requirement for <br />FY 1980-81 would be approximately 1.3 mills. <br />It should be noted, Option I -A is the minimum action <br />required'of the County Commission to continue funding <br />of fire protection in the south county areas, without <br />Page 2 of 10 <br />
