 <br />FRP, L-2 TO C/I; AND TO REZONE THOSE .52 ACRES <br />FROM RS-6 TO CG () <br />LEGISLATIVE <br /> <br />Community Development Director Bob Keating said this is a proposed small-scale <br />land use amendment and a rezoning. He explained “small scale amendment” and recapping his <br />memorandum of August 15, 2006. Staff feels the proposed change would be consistent with the <br />Comprehensive Plan and recommended that the Board approve the request. Planning and Zoning <br />also voted 6-0 for the Board to approve. Director Keating answered questions from the Board <br />regarding other properties in the area. <br /> <br />The Chairman opened the Public Hearing <br />. <br /> <br />Michael O’Hare, Esquire, <br />representing the Applicant, provided a brief history of <br />his involvement with the project and invited questions from the Board. <br /> <br />Bob Johnson <br /> thought this was a good example of rezoning, when the Commission <br />is informed of all the circumstances of what would happen to property when it is rezoned. The <br />Board should in the future obtain more information on rezoning before decisions are made, he said. <br /> <br />On Motion by Commissioner Lowther, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously adopted <br />the following Ordinances: <br />Ordinance 2006-026 amending the future land use element <br />of the Comprehensive Plan by changing the land use <br />designation for more or less .52 acres located east of US <br />st <br />Hwy 1 and approximately 470 feet north of southeast 21 <br />Street, from L-2, low-density residential-2 (up to 6 <br />September 12, 2006 <br />21 <br /> <br />
