We have been informed that we are eligible for $31,154 in <br />LEU funds. The state match of $1,558 is guaranteed. We are <br />seeking the county match of $1,558. We have been informed that <br />LEAA. FY 181 will probably not be available due to Presidential <br />recommendations for its abolishment. We are currently seeking other <br />major sources of funding• for FY 181. <br />Our statistics will show that we have fulfilled all of our goals <br />for this grant period as outlined in our FY '?9 application. <br />Our FY '80 application is essentially the same as our FY 179 <br />application. The grant period will run from Sept. 1, 1980 to <br />August 31, 1981. Goals and objectives will be similar. Our timetable <br />is somewhat different from last years. The emphasis this year will <br />be on training staff and seeking permanent funds. <br />CETA grant proposals have been submitted and we have been assured <br />renewal of the '79 proposals. This grant covers salaries for five <br />employees. <br />We welcome your questions concerning our operation. Thank <br />you for your consideration. <br />MS. FINNEY INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THE FIGURE IN THE LETTER <br />OF $1,558 WAS INCORRECT - IT SHOULD BE $1,730. SHE CONTINUED THAT <br />THIS WOULD BE THEIR LAST YEAR FOR LEAA FUNDING AND THEY ARE NOW <br />EXPLORING EVERY AVENUE THEY CAN FOR FUNDING. MS. FINNEY ADVISED THEY <br />HAVE APPLIED TO THE UNITED WAY, AND TO HRS FOR FUNDS UNDER THE MARRIAGE <br />LICENSE ACT FOR SPOUSE ABUSE. SHE STATED THEIR SPOUSE ABUSE CENTER <br />WAS THE ONLY ONE BETWEEN VOLUSIA AND PALM BEACH COUNTIES AND THEY <br />HAVE DISCUSSED THE POSSIBILITY OF MERGING WITH FOUR OR FIVE OTHER <br />COUNTIES. <br />COMMISSIONER LYONS ADVISED HE WOULD DISCUSS THIS POSSIBILITY <br />WITH THE REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL. <br />
