Administrator Baird addressed Vice Chairman Davis's concern regarding an <br />individual who was allegedly owed some money from a subcontractor of one of the waste <br />haulers. <br />Commissioner O'Bryan recalled that the Board had prior discussions on the <br />Enterprise Zone and minority participation, and he wanted to make sure those issues were <br />resolved before the agreements were approved. Himanshu Mehta, Managing Director of the <br />Solid Waste Disposal District (SWDD) responded to Commissioner O'Bryan's concerns <br />regarding the franchise agreements. <br />15.B.2. INDIAN RIVER CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION'S REQUEST FOR SOLID <br />WASTE ASSESSMENT ADJUSTMENT <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wheeler, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner O'Bryan, the Board unanimously <br />approved the adjustment of the Indian River Correctional <br />Institution's 2008 solid waste assessment in the amount of <br />$6,225.74, contingent upon the Indian River Correctional <br />Institution continuing to provide inmate labor for landfill <br />operations, as recommended in the memorandum of <br />September 8, 2008. (At this time, the Indian River <br />Correctional Institution continues to provide inmate labor <br />to assist the S. W.D.
