Fr­ <br />JUL 3 n 1980 <br />i <br />BooK 44 mGE zoo <br />RESOLUTION NO. 80-70 <br />WHEREAS, the Kiwanis Club of Vero -Treasure Coast has <br />expressed a desire to the Board of County Commissioners to <br />construct a six-foot bicycle path beginning at* 27th Avenue,,; ., <br />running east along 12th Street, then south along 21st Court, <br />then east along 13th Street then south for a distance of approxi- <br />mately 110 feet along 20th Avenue; and <br />WHEREAS, the Kiwanis Club of Vero -Treasure Coast has <br />raised the approximate sum of $11,000.00 through certain fund <br />raising activities for the purposes of constructing the bike <br />path; and <br />WHEREAS, the Kiwanis Club of Vero -Treasure Coast has <br />secured the services and contributions of Global Paving Systems, <br />_I <br />Inc. to assist them in the construction of the bike path; and <br />WHEREAS, the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners <br />wishes to cooperate fully with the Kiwanis Club of Vero -Treasure <br />Coast, and also to require certain insurance coverage of the <br />contractor, Global Paving Systems, Inc.; and <br />WHEREAS, the Kiwanis Club of Vero -Treasure Coast has <br />evinced an intention to convey the proposed bicycle path to <br />the Board of County Commissioners for public purposes upon <br />completion of said bicycle path. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA: <br />That the Indian River County Commission approves of <br />the construction of the subject bike path and that the County <br />Administrator, Jack Jennings, is hereby authorized to work <br />along with the Kiwanis Club of Vero -Treasure Coast and Global <br />Paving Systems, Inc., the Contractor towards development of <br />the subject bike path, and further that the Indian River County <br />Board of County Commissioners will accept the bike path on <br />behalf of the citizens of Indian River County upon completion <br />of the subject bike path and upon the certification of the <br />County Administrator that the project was completed in compliance <br />with County's specification. <br />
