DEPARTMENT <br />July 22, 1980 <br />MEMO <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: David M. Rever, Planning and Zoning Director <br />SUBJECT: Proposed "Exchange Youth Home" <br />Listed below are the 6 proposed parcels which the Exchange Club has <br />submitted for consideration as a Youth Home. We have provided brief <br />comments for each site, the respective zoning on each, and priortized <br />the three best choices in the Planning staff's view. They are as <br />follows: <br />1) Parcel #6: Zoning M-1. County owned; good access; <br />adequate land area; lack of extensive amount of sur- <br />rounding development; provision of fire station in, <br />future in immediate area. Central location in County. <br />(4.24 acres) <br />2) Parcel #4: Zoning M-1. County owned; good access though <br />not centralized; large enough; would not detract from <br />surrounding uses. (1 acre) <br />3) Parcel #2: Zoning R-1. Privately owned; large enough site; <br />access not ideal; surrounding development (largely resi- <br />dential).though it is not immediately adjacent. (1 acre) <br />Parcel #1: Zoning R-1. County owned; negotiations now <br />being undertaken to provide for future school on this <br />site. (15 acres) <br />DMR: j t <br />Parcel #3: Zoning Hospital and R-1 (City of Vero). <br />County owned; good access and location, however land is <br />being held in reserve for possible future parking needs <br />around the new County Administrative Complex. (various <br />sized parcels) <br />Parcel #5: Zoning R-1. Privately owned; poor accessibility <br />(road improvements would be necessary). (1.4 acre) <br />DAVID M.
