IN FURTHER DISCUSSION, IT WAS NOTED PART OF THIS PROPERTY <br />IS DIRECTLY OPPOSITE THE WINTER BEACH SCHOOL, AND INTERGOVERNMENTAL <br />COORDINATOR THOMAS FELT THE PROPERTY IS ZONED COMMERCIAL AND WOULD <br />NOT HAVE TO BE REZONED. <br />MR. MARSH STATED THAT PUBLIC SERVICES ARE ALLOWED IN COMMERCIAL, <br />AND ATTORNEY COLLINS AGREED THAT THERE IS A REFERENCE TO A PUBLIC <br />BUILDING UNDER C-1. <br />COMMISSIONER LOY NOTED THAT PARCEL #4, WHICH IS M-1 IS <br />LOCATED BETWEEN OLD DIXIE AND THE RAILROAD. <br />COORDINATOR THOMAS FELT THAT IS INDUSTRIAL. HE WAS NOT SURE <br />HOW MUCH LAND WAS DESIRED, BUT POINTED OUT THERE IS AMPLE PROPERTY IN <br />WINTER BEACH, AND ONLY ONE ACRE IN PARCEL #4. <br />CHAIRMAN SIEBERT WAS OF THE OPINION THAT WINTER BEACH IS <br />THE BETTER LOCATION BECAUSE IT IS MORE CENTRALLY LOCATED IN THE COUNTY. <br />IN REGARD TO THE QUESTION OF WHETHER THE PART EAST OR WEST OF U.S. 1 <br />IS PREFERABLE, HE FELT THAT THE EASTERN PORTION WOULD BE BETTER FOR <br />THE YOUTH HOME AND THE WESTERN PORTION FOR THE FIRE STATION BECAUSE <br />IT WOULD GIVE THEM BETTER ACCESS TO U.S. 1. IT COULD ALSO BE A <br />POTENTIAL WELL SITE, AND HE BELIEVED IT IS A VERY GOOD AREA FOR NORTH <br />COUNTY SERVICES. <br />COMMISSIONER LYONS AGREED. <br />COMMISSIONER LOY COMMENTED THAT WE DO STILL OWN THE PROPERTY <br />WHERE THE OLD WINTER BEACH SCHOOL IS, AND IT IS POSSIBLE THAT IT COULD <br />HAVE A MULTITUDE OF USES. SHE, TO0, PREFERRED THE EAST SIDE AS A <br />LOCATION FOR THE YOUTH HOUSE, <br />DISCUSSION ENSUED ON THE AMOUNT OF PROPERTY ON EACH SIDE <br />OF THE HIGHWAY, AND ATTORNEY CIANFRONE BELIEVED THAT 4.2 ACRES CON- <br />STITUTES THE OVERALL PARCEL, WHICH WAS SPLIT IN TWO BY U.S. 1. <br />COMMISSIONER LOY AGREED AND BELIEVED THE PROPERTY ON THE <br />EAST SIDE WOULD AMOUNT TO ABOUT HALF OF THE 4.2 ACRES, WHICH WOULD <br />BE ADEQUATE. <br />MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER LOY, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />LYONS, TO AUTHORIZE THE EXCHANGE CLUB ATTORNEY TO PREPARE A LEASE ON <br />THE EAST SIDE OF PARCEL #6 FOR THE YOUTH HOME. <br />J U L 3 01980 46 44 PAGE 14t <br />
