September 18, 2007 <br />SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL DISTRICT <br />The Board of Commissioners of the Solid Waste Disposal District met at the <br />County Commission Chambers, 1801 27th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, September <br />18, 2007. Present were Chairman Gary C. Wheeler, Vice Chair Sandra L. Bowden, <br />Commissioners Wesley S. Davis, Joseph E. Flescher and Peter D. O'Bryan. Also present were <br />County Administrator Joseph A. Baird, County Attorney William G. Collins II, and Deputy <br />Clerk Maureen Gelfo. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order at 2:57 p.m. <br />14.B.1. INDIAN RIVER CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION'S REQUEST FOR SOLID <br />WASTE ASSESSMENT ADJUSTMENT <br />Solid Waste Disposal District's (SWDD's) Interim Managing Director Himanshu <br />Mehta reviewed his memorandum of August 31, 2007, and asked for Board approval to adjust <br />the 2007 solid waste assessment by $6,583.78, in exchange for inmate labor provided for County <br />landfill operations. <br />ON MOTION by Vice Chair Bowden, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Flescher, the Board unanimously approved <br />the adjustment of the Indian River Correctional <br />Institution's 2007 solid waste assessment in the amount of <br />$6,583.78, contingent upon the Indian River Correctional <br />September 18, 2007 1 <br />S.W.D.D. <br />
